Coaching Staff
 

All of our coaches are available for private lessons. Lesson rates vary by coach and experience but range from $11.00 - $33.00 per 20 minute lesson. If your lesson is on an open freestyle session, a fee of $13.00 must be paid to the rink for the ice time. The Pond offers a 10 session swipe card for $120.00.

Michelle Dumler is from Baltimore and has been skating since the age of 4, competing in freestyle and dance. She has tested in moves, freestyle & dance, and is still currently training, under the direction of coaches in both Delaware & Maryland. Michelle has been coaching for 10 years, and in 2006 made the transition to Delaware. She is a member of both the PSA & USFSA, and is working towards her PSA ratings. She was an assistant director for “Edge Out Cancer ‘07,” and has extensive show experience. She is currently accepting students of all ages and levels for freestyle & moves, as well as basic skills. Michelle graduated from a small private college in Maryland in 2005, and is currently an assistant to a forensic psychologist in Towson, MD.

 

Rose Willard has 19 years of competitive figure skating experience and has been coaching for seven years. She holds a B.S. in exercise science with a focus in coaching from the University of Delaware. She specializes in Basic Skills, freestyle and Moves in the Field on the ice and specializes in sport specific conditioning and Pilates off the ice. She has outstanding communication skills with children, a positive personality with the belief that great accomplishments can be made through positive reinforcement, and is motivated and creative. Rose is also co-founder of Paradigm Fitness LLC, a one-on-one sports performance training facility at The Pond.


Patty DeLisi has been training competitive skaters for U.S.F.S. and ISI for 30 years. Formerly with the Ice Capades, she has her U.S.F.S. Gold medal in dance. She holds three Master Ratings with the Professional Skaters Association. Many of her skaters have progressed from the beginning level through their U.S.F.S. Gold medals with Patty as their private coach. She has worked for the Washington Capitals as their Power Skating Coach.

 

Lindsey Heilman Lindsey has been a Figure Skater since 1989 competing in freestyle, figures and synchronized skating. During those years she was a national competitor in synchronized skating from 1991 through 1999, skating in different levels through the ranks including juvenile, novice, junior and senior representing the University of Delaware teams. She has tested in many disciplines including freestyle, figures, dance and moves in the field and is still currently skating. Four years ago she began coaching in many of these disciplines. Since then, Lindsey has coached a team to an eastern sectional championship and has several years of coaching skaters of multiple levels, some of which include qualifying teams, moves in the field, freestyle and learn to skate classes. In addition, Lindsey studied international business and am a medically trained esthetician.

 
 
 

Brooke Graham has been skating for 14 years. She has done most of her training at under the direction of Olympic level coaches at the University of Delaware Ice Arena. She has extensive experience in competitive freestyle, pairs, Moves in the Field and dance. She has a B.A. in english with a minor in theater. She is presently working towards her master's in elementary education. She has been coaching group and private lessons for four years. She is currently accepting students of all leves and ages.

 

Wendy Deppe is a double U.S. Gold Medalist in figures and freestyle. Wendy has over 20 years of competitive figure and synchronized skating experience. Wendy is a national competitor in synchronized skating. She has been coaching Preliminary through Senior level skaters in Moves in the Field and freestyle for 15 years. In addition, Wendy is an accomplished synchronized skating coach having coached this discipline for 18 years. Wendy has coached several synchronized skating teams ranging from beginning through senior level. She has taken several teams to the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships over the past 15 years and many of her teams have earned medals at the U.S. Championships, including the 2004 Bronze Medalists in the Collegiate Division. Wendy holds a degree in education and is currently a 2nd grade teacher at Wilson Elementary School.

 

Megan O’Donnell has 18 years of competitive figure skating experience. Megan trained with national and Olympic Coaches at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI. She is a U.S. Gold Medalist in dance and figures, as well as a Canadian Gold Medalist. Megan was a national competitor in synchronized skating and ice dancing and a sectional competitor in freestyle. Megan has been coaching Moves in the Field, freestyle and dance for 13 years. She has coached skaters through the Senior Level in Moves in the Field and freestyle. In addition, Megan is a national synchronized skating coach. She has taken several teams to the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, including the 2004 Bronze Medalists in the Collegiate Division. Megan also has extensive experience with ensemble skating having served as the director of a traveling troupe for four years. Megan has a master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in mental health counseling. She currently is a school counselor at West Park Elementary School.
