The Pond Ice Arena's 2008/2009 USA Hockey-sanctioned tournaments feature:
  • Three game guarantee plus Championship Game.
  • Skills Competition (during Flight on Ice Tournament).
  • Individual awards for 1st and 2nd place teams.

    • There is NO spectator fee and tournament t-shirts and other souvenirs will be available for purchase.

    Tournament Fees:

    Summer Sizzler:   $795.00 (July 18-20,2008) This is a tournament for 2008/2009 teams
    Big Chill Girls Summer Tournament:   $795.00 (August 15-17,2008) This is a tournament for 2008/2009 teams
    College Showcase:   $60.00 per player Junior, Senior, HS players and College Freshmen only (August 22, 2008)
    Midget 18AA Pre Season Challenge:   $695.00 (Aug 23 & 24, 2008)
    Thanksgiving Classic:   $825.00 (November 28-30, 2008)
    President's Day Cup Tournament:   $825.00 (February 14-16, 2009)
    Flight on Ice:   $865.00 per team (Feb 27-Mar 1, 6-8, and 13-15, 2009)
    Timothy's Labbatts Adult:   $850.00 per team (April 24-26, 2009) 35U division (Ages 21 and over only)
    Timothy's Labbatts Adult:   $850.00 per team (May 1-3, 2009) 36+ division (Ages 21 and over only) also hosting C 35 under division
    Please note:

  • $200 deposit due at time of application.
  • Tournament fees & deposits are non-refundable. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Players/coaches names should be emailed to cmzaremba@aol.com for the t-shirt vendor

7th College Show Case

Presented by: Jack Lyons

  • The 7th College Showcase will be held at the Pond Ice Arena on Friday August 22, 2008.

    COST $60 PER PLAYER (Includes game jersey, officials, coaches forum & player profiles for all coaches)

    The Pond is located in Newark, Delaware. This showcase is the most successful showcase of its kind, and has seen over 295 players recruited to play college club hockey as a direct result of this showcase. The showcase is for individual players who are looking for an education first and playing competitive hockey second. Only players who will be in 11th or 12th grade or attending a community/junior college during the 2008- 2009 school year may participate

    There are no try-outs for this event and is not an all-star format; players of all skill levels are welcomed to apply. Teams for the showcase will be put together based on age and playing level to help insure competitive play for all. This showcase sells out quickly!

    81 ACHA D-I, D-II & D-III will be invited to attend this showcase. A list of confirmed schools will be sent out to all registered players on a monthly basis.

    NONE OF THE ATTENDING SCHOOLS OFFER HOCKEY SCHOLORSHIPS

    SHOWCASE INFORMATION

    The 7th College Showcase will have a maximum of 80 players (4- teams).

    Each team will be comprised of: 2-goalies, 6-defense & 12- forwards.

    Games: Teams will play 4- 14 minute stop time periods with ice cut after 2nd period.

    THIS SHOWCASE WILL RUN IN CONJUCTION WITH THE POND’S MIDGET U18 AA SUMMER PRE-SEASON CHALLENGE.
